The puppies have all gone to their new homes. It is sure quiet around here these days. Enjoy these shots of the pups with their new owners (unfortunately, I did not get a shot of Dobby (Mr. Purple) with his new owner Richard O'Conor. They have promised to send one soon and I will post it when it arrives).

Saturday, July 17, 2010 - We have a swimming pool!!!!!!!!!
Sunday, July 11, 2010 - Sorry that I have not had any updates lately, but these Boys have been keeping me busy!! Fourth of July weekend brought Aunt Elaine and Uncle Mike for a visit. Ed Zawodny and Deanna Germann joined us on Saturday, July 3rd and the pups had their first "Farm Walk". They LOVED it! The pups walked from the front yard to the front field and they romped and played in the cover.
The boys had even more adventures today. Linda Lowy and Linda Schmidt came over to visit and play. The first order of business was a puppy bath and graduation from the rick-rack collar to their new big boy collars.
After a good towel dry, each boy got to meet Chili and romp with her in the living room. Chili loves when we have puppies for her to help raise, but I am not sure Chili fully appreciated the flying leap from dog bed to dog bed by Mr. Orange!
Friday, July 2, 2010 - Outside adventures have begun!! The Boys had their first outing in the big, wide world on Tuesday. It was a lovely day and they were being rowdy so Mitch and I decided it was time for them to play in the grass. We took them out and let them romp and they loved it! On Thursday, I set up the boys' Outdoor Palace. Now they are going out several times a day and playing until they zonk out. The Boys love the outdoors and were very comfortable with it right away. Next adventure will be a "farm walk" where we take them for a walk about our property and see who keeps up!
Friday, June 25, 2010 - The Boys had their first meal today and they loved it! Mr. Red and Mr. Green were the first to attack the puppy pan, but Mr. Orange, Mr. Blue and Mr. Purple were not far behind. Between the 5 of them, they licked the pan clean.
Thursday, June 24, 2010 - Look how big and playful we have gotten...
Monday, June 21, 2010 - The puppies have had a busy last few days. I spent the day on Friday changing the family room around so I could set up their new playpen and move the boys to their new digs. They have had a great time exploring their new homes and they love all of their new toys. Mr. Purple made himself right at home and took a nap on his new jack stuffy toy. Everyday the boys get more and more active. They have great bursts of energy where they run around and play and then they fall fast asleep. The boys are really interacting with each other now as well and we have witnessed a few games of puppy "fang fang" already. We bought them a pvc "tunnel" which they like to crawl through and sleep in. We will be adding more stimulating items to their pen as they continue to grow and become more aware of their environment. On Sunday, the boys had a visitor. Linda Schmidt came down from Cleveland and spent the morning playing with them. She helped us with changing their ribbons, cutting their toenails and weighing them. All of the boys weigh well over three pounds now. Let me know if you would like to visit. The boys are happy to have new playmates!
Thursday, June 17, 2010 - What a difference 10 days makes!! Sorry for the lack of updates. The specialty was a whirlwind and a lot of fun. Mitch left after the field to go home and train for the Cuyahoga Valley test, while I stayed behind for conformation. The dogs had some success and I enjoyed catching up with old friends. As usual, I did not get to watch much of the show, but I bought the video. The videographer was doing a great job and I am looking forward to getting the DVD's. Now on to the pups...
They did a lot of eating, sleeping and growing during specialty week. It was amazing how much bigger they were when I returned home on Saturday. Their eyes were just starting to open and they were beginning to take their first toddling steps. By Monday, someone turned on the puppy switch and they are now interacting with each other, walking (albeit wobbly) around the box and checking out their new toys. On Tuesday we had our first escaper!! Mr. Blue was found wandering around outside the whelping box.
Not to be out done by Mr. Blue, Mr. Green was out and about 10 minutes later. Once they figure out how to escape there is no keeping them in the box so it is time to move to the sitting room and into the large puppy play pen! Now that they are "interactive" and moving to the big pen, the puppies would love to have visitors. Please let me know if you would like to come over and help socialize the boys. They are getting to be lots of fun!
Monday, June 7, 2010 - Sorry there has not been much news to report and with packing to leave for the National last week, I did not get any more pictures taken. Rest assured the pups are doing quite well. They are getting bigger and they are very active. The boys had their dews claws removed last Wednesday and Dr. Darr and staff just loved them all up! Dr. Darr was very pleased with the pups condition and health. Charm is doing and excellent job. News from the National Specialty...we are pleased to report that the puppies Grandma - "Binti" Wynflat's Binti Wa Amani SH WCX had a very successful run at the Steady Singles. She WON her division (Steady Singles C) and got to be in the run offs for the finals. She did not win, but there was not a dry eye in the house after she completed her run. Not bad for an 11 year old girl.!! Mitch and I were both so proud of her. I will be home next Saturday (June 12) and promise to post new pictures then. In the meantime, Linda Lowy and Greta Ode are giving the pups lots of love and attention while we are in Indiana.
Monday, May 31, 2010 - 4:45 PM: Couldn't resist and took some more pictures...Enjoy!
Monday, May 31, 2010 - 11:41 AM: It was a very peaceful night. Charm and I both slept with one eye open, but at least we slept. The puppies were all happy and contented and Charm was one very tired new mommy. Of course, first thing this morning everyone was raring to go again. They are all very vigorous and strong! Each one is ALL BOY! Mr. Blue figured out how to nurse and is now a vigorous defender of his chosen nipple. When he is not eating, he and Mr. Green seem to have joined Mr. Orange in his quest to explore every inch of the whelping box. Mr. Purple loves to curl up on his mom's foot to sleep after a good meal. And Mr. Red, well he still has not missed a meal and is the first one to cry if mom out of reach for too long, which in his opinion is for more than 1 minute. Makes it hard for a mom to eat her own dinner and go potty! Taking the individual photos was quite an event. Kudos to the inventor of digital photography because we sure got a lot of shots we cold not use. The best of the bunch of the individual photos are on the right. I will update these periodically as they grow and if I get really ambitious, I might create a page for each pup - we'll see, but I may need to tear myself away from the pups to mow the grass and get some gardening done.
Sunday, May 30,
2010 - 9:45 PM: Charm moved to the whelping box about 1:00 in the
afternoon. She was so unhappy!
So we have 5
very healthy pups and one very sleepy mom: Mr. Blue - Born at 2:05 PM - Weight 14.2 oz. Mr. Red - Born at 2:10 PM - Weight 11.9 oz. Mr. Green - Born at 3:58 PM - Weight 15.7 oz. Mr. Orange - Born at 4:39 PM - Weight 13.4 oz. Mr. Purple - Born at 4:54 pm - Weight 12.6 oz.
They are already making themselves into little characters. For example, Mr. Blue could not seem to find a nipple to save his own life, whereas Mr. Red has not missed a meal since his birth. And Mr. Orange seems to be constantly crawling over to the wrong side of the box.
Tomorrow, I will take individual photos of each pup along with some more group photos with Mom. Now we are all going to get a good night sleep!
Sunday, May 30,
2010 - 9:08 am: Still no puppies! Charm was pretty perky yesterday
morning.
Saturday, May 22, 2010: Charm is getting very big and is already making milk for her babies. She is hungry all the time, but still wants to retrieve every day. We will be posting photos and videos of the puppies when they are born so check back later for more.
